What is the difference between a vacation rental and a hotel?

A vacation rental is based on the concept of renting your house to a guest without your presence at the property.

Are the services provided on a vacation rental similar to the ones provided by a hotel?

Services like breakfast, 24h reception, daily cleaning etc are not provided on a vacation rental.

What are the services provided?

We offer stylish, new apartments, fully furnished and equipped. There is a washing machine in each house for guests’ clothes. Fresh white sheets, towels and blankets are in your rooms. All fees and charges are included in the price of the rent.

Is cleaning provided?

The apartments are professionally cleaned before your arrival. Rubbish is removed every 2 days and proper cleaning is offered every 4 days.

Are bed linen and towels provided?

Fresh white sheets, towels and blankets are in your rooms and are replaced every 4 days.

Is breakfast included?

We do not offer breakfast. However, you can prepare your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen of your house.

 

Reservation and Payments

How can I make a reservation?

You can make a request through our “Contact us” form.
Alternatively, you can call us directly on our telephone numbers.

What is the payment process?

The booking deposit is 50% of the total amount due for the booked period and must be paid by credit card or transferred to our bank account in advance to confirm and secure the reservation. The balance amount is paid after check in.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation is allowed up to 48 hours after reservation.
If you cancel up to 60 days before arrival, 100% of the above booking deposit will be refunded.
If you cancel less than 60 days before arrival, your booking deposit will not be refunded.

If you cancel your reservation within 10 days before arrival, you will be charged full price.

Is a security (damage) deposit necessary?

A security deposit is not necessary. Of course, any damage to the property will be charged to the guest.

 

Access and Transportation

How can I come to your place?

The property is located at Sklipi, in the outskirts of Ermoupolis, 2km from the port. We recommend that you have a car or scooter to commute. There are no bus stations in the area. Walking from and to the town port is possible (35 minutes) but not recommended during the summer.

How can I find the place?

You can find our exact location at the ‘Contact Us” tab or in Google Maps under the name ‘Avrofilito Syros Houses’. We are also happy to welcome our guests at the port or the airport and escort them to the property upon their request.

 

House rules

What are the check-in and check-out hours?

The check-in can begin by 2pm, as we always need to clean the space before your arrival and make sure everything is in order. As for the check-out, it needs to be realised until 12pm (noon). Our goal is to provide the house in perfect condition and on-time to our next guests, so the interval time between 12pm and 2pm is more than necessary for us to go through all the required procedures. We can always arrange late check-out upon your request.

Is smoking allowed?

The interior of the houses are strictly NON-SMOKING areas. Please use the exterior areas for smoking (yards, balconies or terraces).

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not allowed (although we love them).

Can I invite other people to the property?

People other than the tenants may not stay overnight in the houses.
